AREZZO – Ospiti di eccezione per dare il via alla manifestazione sono stati Ballan e Giuseppe Saronni.
La loro presenza è stata premiata dall' organizzatore Chianucci e dai signori Del Tongo, che partecipano ogni anno alla corsa toscana.
La corsa ha avuto esito finale allo sprint con la vittoria di Petacchi su Belletti e Marzoli.
Gavazzi è stato il primo corridore Lampre-Ngc all' arrivo, ottenendo un buon quinto posto.
La gara è stata caratterizzata da numerosi tentativi di fuga, il principale è avvenuto dopo 50km dal via, un gruppo di 12 atleti si è infatti avvantaggiato sul plotone guadagnando circa 5'.
In questo tentativo era presente anche uno dei migliori corridori di oggi del nostro team, Manuele Mori che ha cercato in tutti i modi di centrare la fuga buona.
Sotto la spinta delle squadre dei velocisti però il vantaggio dei 12 al comando è svanito a 50 km dal traguardo, e il gruppo ormai composto da 40 corridori ha disputato lo sprint.
Nel gruppo dei migliori la Lampre-Ngc era rappresentata da ben 5 atleti: Gavazzi (quinto), Mori Manuele, Righi, Da Dalto e Santambrogio.
