A 19" un gruppetto comprendente tutti i migliori tra cui anche Gavazzi che ha disputato lo sprint e ha agguantato il terzo posto, Cunego presente nel medesimo gruppo è giunto 14°.
La classifica generale resta così immutata con al comando sempre Contador e Cunego quinto a 27".
"Oggi è stata una giornata difficile per la pioggia incessante che abbiamo incontrato", ha spiegato il Ds Copeland, "siamo davvero contenti del terzo posto di Gavazzi che è un giovane promettente e in grande crescita. Bene anche Cunego che non ha avuto problemi a restare a ridosso dei primi della classifica generale, supportato dall'immancabile Tiralongo che è giunto con lui nel primo gruppo".
Da segnalare i ritiri dei corridori blu-fucsia: Bruseghin, Santambrogio,Marzano e Gasparotto.
